Our Story
THE BACKBENCHER is a dream turned into a lifestyle brand that aims at making lives easy. For us, it is the joy in everyday things that matters the most. Things like the morning hustle, the daily grind & the good old coffee.
It started with a spirit to explore and one simple idea: we’re all heading somewhere. Every day, embarking on journeys both great and small. No matter your destination, we’re here to take you there! You change your clothes daily (hopefully), but your bags & accessories go with you every day. With our minimalistic and uncomplicated designs, you can do your thing without looking like you take yourself too seriously.
Established in 2014, we have delivered more than one million products. Have customized products for more than 1000 corporates, educational institutions & MSMEs. Our factory houses more than 200 skilled men & women that work tirelessly to take customer experience to a whole new level. Traditional crafting methods are employed to create durable goods that are built to last much longer than a person would expect.

Our Founders
The Backbencher was born out of a shared passion for adventure, creativity, and craftsmanship. Founded by two engineers, Himanshoo and Siddhant, who left the corporate grind to pursue their love for exploration and design, the brand was conceived in their studio-cum-workshop in Gurugram. With a vision to create products that could withstand the demands of both everyday life and extraordinary adventures, they combined their technical expertise with a deep appreciation for sustainability. Together, they’re dedicated to crafting innovative, durable, and stylish gear for modern explorers who refuse to be confined by convention.
